Who We Are
The Orlando Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are a community of post-modern nuns, guards, and supporters dedicated to promoting joy and expiating stigma through acts of service, education, and celebration.
We are part of an international order with chapters around the world, using humor, love, and visible presence to build a more inclusive and compassionate world.
Through extravagant habit, joyful spirit, and unwavering compassion, we stand beside those on the margins and lift up the voices of our LGBTQIA+ family.
Mission Statement
We are an order of Post-Modern Nuns, dedicated to the promulgation of omniversal joy, and the expiation of stigmatic guilt.
We work to raise money for charitable organizations, fight for queer rights and visibility, do safer sex outreach, bring joy and unity to our community, and strive diligently to keep our sense of humor, never taking ourselves so seriously that we forget to have fun.
We gladly welcome all races, creeds, genders, and sexual orientations.
Our Sistory
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence began in San Francisco in 1979 when a group of friends, inspired by the radical spirit of drag and service, created a new kind of activist presence.
The Orlando Sisters were founded to bring that legacy of joy and service to Central Florida. Since then, we have grown into a vibrant community committed to making our city and our world a kinder, more inclusive place.
